Fuel & Lube Truck Driver

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Fuel & Lube Truck Driver to join our team. The Fuel & Lube Truck Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently driving a large commercial vehicle for extended hours to accurately fuel, lube, and perform light maintenance on heavy construction equipment.

All safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight, and break periods must be followed. The ideal candidate already has their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Maryland HAZMAT Endorsement, and has previous training in operating and driving. The Fuel & Lube Truck Driver will also be responsible for fueling the truck’s tanks, parking in appropriate locations on active construction sites, tracking hours and mileage, and documenting service, inventory, and maintenance requests.

Truck Driver Duties and Responsibilities

  • Practice safe driving habits
  • Follow all state and national large truck safety regulations and standards
  • Complete documentation for mileage and materials; keep track of mileage, fuel, and toll expenses.
  • Accurately follow maps and directions for time efficient routes
  • Plan routes to meet service schedules
  • Refuel vehicle and check/replace oil as needed
  • Inspect truck daily for damage or maintenance problems (tire wear, dents, etc.)
  • Report any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while driving to supervisors
  • Maintain vehicle equipment; clean windows, windshields, and mirrors as needed; keep interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter

Truck Driver Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent certification
  • Must have a valid and current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to operate a large vehicle & HAZMAT certification
  • Two (2) years’ previous professional driving experience or related experience
  • Must have a clean driving record with no recent moving violations
  • Proficient at driving, maneuvering, and parking large vehicles
  • Physically fit and able to sit for long time periods, perform truck maintenance, and lift 50 pounds comfortably
  • Candidate should be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills required
  • Able to work weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed
